Hi, I’m Will!
Helping Men & Couples find their way back to meaningful connection.
(In person or online across Oregon)
Many men care deeply about their partners and families, but feel stuck in moments that matter the most. When conflict, hurt or emotional pressure shows up, they might start fixing, defending or stuffing, trying to push through alone. This is when their partners are hoping for vulnerability, heartfelt listening, or a steady presence. These men aren’t trying to be uncaring or aloof. They’re actually trying to manage something they were never really shown how to name.
I offer trauma-informed couples counseling and individual therapy. Sessions with me are warm, engaged, and sincere. I work to create a space where you can be honest about what’s hard without feeling judged, rushed, or pressured to perform.
In our conversations, we slow things down enough to notice and discuss what’s happening beneath the surface: what feels painful, what gets protected, what gets misunderstood, and what needs have not always been expressed clearly. People often tell me our work helps them better understand themselves, their partners, and the patterns they get caught in.
I don’t approach therapy as an all-knowing expert handing down answers. I show up as a trained clinician and a real person: thoughtful, steady, a little quirky, and always committed to helping you feel safe enough to be honest and try something new.
While I have personal insight into Christianity, I’m committed to creating a space where your values guide the work. You can bring your whole self here, without fear of bias or judgement.
Couples Counseling: Rebuilding Connection with Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
The goal isn’t to just talk about connection, it’s to experience it in real time. When conversations become gridlocked or start turning into the same old fight, I help you both pause, back up, and talk through what just happened with more compassionate honesty and understanding instead of reactivity: What did each person hear? What did each person feel? Where did protection take over? You’ll practice being open and responsive with each other’s concerns and needs. This helps conversations feel clearer, more supportive and more productive. Daily communication, problem solving, and intimacy will feel more satisfying. Small disconnections become easier to repair, and painful topics become more manageable.
Individual Therapy: Healing from Complex Trauma and Reconnecting with Yourself (NARM)
I also work with adults who want freedom from the lingering effects of complex trauma, anxiety, burnout, low self-esteem, and perfectionism.
Using the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM), our sessions feel like a focused, curious conversation. We explore how you relate to yourself and others, situations where old coping patterns still shape your life or relationships today. An inner critic may have helped you achieve, but now leaves you exhausted or convinced you’re an imposter. People-pleasing may have helped you stay connected, but now makes it hard to know what you want or need.
Rather than starting with advice or forced behavior change, we slow down and notice what is happening in the present moment: What do you want for yourself? What gets in the way of that? How do you respond to your thoughts, emotions, body, and relationships? As these patterns become clearer, you can develop more compassion, choice, and steadiness in how you relate to yourself and others.
