Hi, I’m Sharon!
Confession: When I was kindergarten, I was so shy I refused to speak to my teachers for the first half of the year. Not a word. Just wide eyes and silent nods. If those teachers saw me now, they wouldn’t recognize me – because these days, I engage in deep conversations for a living. 😂
I often still feel shy and reserved in social situations (preferring not to be the center of attention), but underneath the surface I’ve always been deeply curious about people. Especially the quiet parts under the surface, the parts we’re still trying to understand about ourselves. For me, therapy isn’t about “fixing” anyone. It’s about creating a space where you don’t have to explain yourself, justify your feelings, or pretend to be anything other than exactly who you are.
Therapy With Me
My therapy style is warm, relational, and funny (or at least I try to be). I genuinely care about the people I work with. I bring my full self into this work: Empathy, insight, and the occasional ridiculous metaphor. I’ll always try to be real with you, and I’ll own it when I mess up – which I do, because I’m a human first, therapist second.
What I Specialize In
-
Developmental trauma and complex PTSD using the NeuroAffective Relational Model (NARM): A deeply respectful, non-pathologizing approach that helps people reconnect to their sense of self, choice, and aliveness.
-
Couples therapy using Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT): Helping partners get out of stuck patterns and into moments of real connection, safety, and healing.
I also supervise interns at our practice because I believe affordable, high-quality therapy should be accessible. Supporting new therapists helps me stay sharp, curious, and humble – and I love watching them grow.
When I’m Not in Session…
…I’m usually chasing one of my three boys, cleaning up after our dog, cat, or twelve chickens, or pretending my house is charmingly chaotic instead of just messy. My husband Will is also a therapist, which makes for interesting dinner conversations and lots of shared Google calendars.
ADHD is also a big part of our family, which means our life is full of 80% complete projects, post-it notes, and spontaneous dance parties in the kitchen.
When I need a reset, I head outdoors. Mountains, volcanoes, trees – they remind me that life is messy and beautiful and always changing. Just like us.
Here, my husband Will and I are on top of Mt Adams in 2022:
