Nichole Headshot

Hi, I’m Nichole.

The first time I went to therapy, I was a mess. Years of trying to be perfect and minimizing my own needs had finally caught up with me. I think that’s true for a lot of us — we reach out when something isn’t working anymore, or when holding it all together starts to feel too heavy to carry alone.

Before becoming a therapist, I spent years in a completely different field and, by most standards, “thriving.” On paper, everything looked right. But underneath, there was a quiet, persistent pull toward something more meaningful. How inconvenient! Choosing this path meant letting go of an identity that felt safe, but not fully authentic. Starting over was painful and risky — 0/10 for comfort, but so worth it.

If you’re here, you don’t have to have it all figured out to start. You don’t even have to know exactly what you need yet. Clarity tends to come in pieces — and even being here is a meaningful first step.

What it’s like to work with me

A close friend once told me, “I love how you see me.” That stayed with me. It’s the kind of presence I try to offer in therapy — a space where you feel understood, not judged or picked apart, but genuinely seen. You exist within relationships, history, culture, and systems that have shaped how you move through the world. Together, we’ll explore those patterns with curiosity — not to pathologize you, but to understand you.

I don’t see myself as the expert of your life. You are. My role is to walk alongside you, helping you stay connected to your values, make sense of your experiences, and move toward choices that feel genuinely yours.

My approach is grounded in attachment, narrative, and systems perspectives, with influences from emotionally focused therapy and mindfulness. In practice, that means our work is collaborative, flexible, and tailored to you — not a one-size-fits-all approach.

Therapy with me might look like:

– Making sense of patterns that keep showing up in your life and relationships

– Reconnecting with parts of yourself that feel lost, hidden, or pushed aside

– Building on strengths you may not even realize you already have

– Creating space for both honesty and self-compassion (yes, both can exist at the same time)

– Occasionally laughing at the absurdity of being human (cry-laughing is welcome too)

My specialties: Adults, couples, and individuals across all genders and identities, including LGBTQIA+, multicultural or mixed-race experiences, and women navigating mid-life transitions.
Credentials: Graduate Student Intern from George Fox University
